I am a British male in my mid-fifties living and working in Japan. I have been working as a narrator/voice-over talent since 2004. I am a native speaker of British English, with a standard “Oxford” accent. I speak quite high level Japanese, though I wouldn’t call myself fluent. I also speak French – my Bachelor’s degree was in French (language and literature) – so if you need French or Japanese with a recognizable English accent, I might be your man.
I have worked in the subtitling industry too, and have done a lot of proofreading over the years. I can also proofread text before recording should you so desire.
Some of my work includes NHK documentary work, TOEIC educational material, in-house promotional videos for various companies, voice actor work for Labo Laboratory/NHK Educational, and overdubbing parts for movies.
My Studio
I have a professional level, fully sound-proofed home studio. Some of my equipment includes: Pro Tools, Avid HD I/O AD/DA converter/interface, Avalon VT-737sp pre-amp, Monster cables, Neumann U87 condenser microphone. The sound-proofing was done by Yamaha, and all cabling and wiring done by outside consultants/specialist audio electrical engineers using exclusively high-end components.
